MapAnimator 3D (release 1.2.0) Installation Instructions and Release Notes Thank you for your interest in MapAnimator 3D. For the latest information please visit our website http://www.mapanimator.com UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== Uninstall existing MapAnimator 3D version 1.x through "Add-Remove Programs" in Control Panel. The entry to remove may be either "MapAnimator 3D" or "Baird Software - MapAnimator 3D". Make sure to remove all shared components, if prompted. Note: ArcScene must not be running during the MapAnimator 3D uninstall process. If there are any critical removal errors that cause a failure, please contact software@baird.com for manual removal instructions. Follow the installation instructions below for version 1.2. Your existing license will remain intact. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ========================= You should be logged into Windows with sufficient privileges to install software. Run the "mapanimator3d_v1.2_install_xx.exe" file and follow the instructions onscreen. Once installation is complete, start ArcScene. To add the MapAnimator 3D extension and toolbar to ArcScene, from the pulldown menu choose Tools > Customize and then click the button "Add from file..." and navigate to the install folder for MapAnimator 3D and select the file "MapAnimator3D.dll." (The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\Baird Software\MapAnimator 3D) SOFTWARE REGISTRATION ===================== If you've correctly loaded the MapAnimator 3D extension, there is no registration necessary to begin using MapAnimator 3D to create camera flight paths. To use all the features of MapAnimator 3D you must request and receive a software authorization key from Baird Software. Follow the on-screen instructions that appear when you first use MapAnimator 3D functions in an ArcScene session. See the "About MapAnimator 3D" box for more information on obtaining license keys. RELEASE NOTES ============= 1. Camera Path Visibility If the camera path extends far beyond the extents of the data sets, it may become invisible. This is the side effect of a performance feature of ArcScene. To overcome this, add a data set that extends to the 3D extents of your camera path, and then set its transparency to 99%. 2. User Permissions Due to a limitation with the current license control software, users must be a member of the "Power Users" group (or higher) for the local domain in order use the software in anything other than demo-mode. 3. Changes from version 1.1 include recording to a separate viewer with an on-screen progress display, and a cancel feature. This allows for larger image dimensions while recording. There has been one report of a significant delay (several seconds) when opening a recording window. This does not seem to be a MapAnimator-related issue, as it can be duplicated manually by selecting "Add Viewer" from the "Window" menu in ArcScene.
